NewsBank: Image editions of The SMH + The Age

In a game-changer for news databases, NewsBank is thrilled to announce the introduction of image editions for The Sydney Morning Herald, The Sun-Herald,The Age, and The Sunday Age. The full digital replica of each newspaper is now available for annual subscription via NewsBank. Backfiles start from 21 August 2018 and will build up daily on an ongoing basis; the back issues will not expire during an active subscription.
The new image editions have been seamlessly integrated into NewsBank's state-of-the-art user interface. The new interface is mobile-optimised for use on any device, and every page of every issue of each image edition is full-text searchable utilising OCR technology.
Uniquely, the new image editions are cross-searchable with NewsBank's flagship news databases in text format: Access Australia, Access New Zealand and Access World News: Research Collection. When running a search, users will see search results for text- and image-based news articles at the same time, offering a fully integrated all-in-one solution for news research.
