ABIA Online: Index of South and Southeast Asian Art and Archaeology

Brill is delighted to announce the online edition of the ABIA Index of South and Southeast Asian Art and Archaeology. Going back to 1928, this unique and up-to-date bibliographic reference source has become the standard of reference in the fields it covers for both specialists as well as students.

The full version of the ABIA Online, to be launched this month, will include 40,000 records from of all 23 volumes of the Annual Bibliography of Indian Archaeology, and its successor, the ABIA Index. ABIA Online will be updated quarterly and approximately 9,000 new records will be added each year.

This unique specialist academic in-depth bibliography is dedicated to South and Southeast Asian and covers the areas of:

  • prehistory;

  • archaeology of the historical period;

  • art, crafts and architecture;

  • inscriptions and palaeography; and

  • coins and seals from the region.

Through strong partnerships in Asia, ABIA Online offers unique references to literature published in the region which are often very hard to identify and access. Importantly, this key resource covers all regions of South and Southeast Asia, including Pacific and Austronesian cultures.
