Historians of East Asia have long considered the Japan Chronicle as a uniquely valuable resource and the newspaper of record for Japan's modernisation and emergence on to the world stage prior to WWII. At the present time, Brill has digitised all issues of the Japan Chronicle between the years 1919 and 1940, while all remaining issues from 1902 to 1919 will be uploaded over the coming year.
