Overview

Access New Zealand is a new web-based resource which features comprehensive news coverage across both the North and South Islands. This one-of-a-kind collection features access to more than 110 titles, from local community newspapers through to major titles, such as The New Zealand Herald, The Dominion Post, The Press and Waikato Times. The coverage for each newspaper commences as early as the 1990s and 2000s, and runs through to the present day. Access New Zealand includes the full text of all news articles, as well as additional sections such as business, sport, editorials, reviews, and much more. With the exception of classifieds, images and advertisements, the entire contents of each newspaper are included, providing libraries with an unmatched research tool. Users are offered an easy-to-use and intuitive interface, with multiple options for quick searching, browsing and filtering. Users are also able to save, print and email each news article, export citations, and set up email alerts. Librarians are provided with access to a usage statistics portal, as well as MARC records, persistent URLs, customisable bookmarks, and step-by-step user documentation (including screen-shots and video demonstrations). NewsBank's Access New Zealand is available to libraries on a 12-month subscription basis. Each subscription includes unlimited, concurrent access for both onsite and remote users.
